Ideation 8,217
shot counts not great with the ultra (especially in .177)..........but yes, very similar realy. after market regulators etc....take them to another level, they make decent guns into awesome guns personally i would buy a seccond hand regged gun over a standard new one......you get better performance and better shot count I'm keen on finding a second hand regged gun, i'm just always wary of buying second hand through websites, often not quite what it says on the tin. Also there is the waiting time, i need it pretty quick, i'm going to have to do some fairly horrible ferreting on Friday and lamp with a .410 / single shot springer, which is not ideal. An air rifle will make life a lot easier. Looks like i'm joining the gang lads! Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
A Daystate X2 .177 will give around 60 full power shots on a 170 BAR charge. Which is not bad. Couple it with a decent silencer (got a Twink 2 on mine now) and the loudest thing is the valve in the mechanism, it is that damned quiet. Admittedly it is a fairly long rifle, but if you can live with the length, you will be impressed, see if you can find one to try! Edited May 11, 2011 by secretagentmole Quote Link to post

Phantom 631
Hi Bud, The S200, S410 and the Ultra are all superb as is the Scorpion. I think out of them all, the 410 is the heaviest (long time since I used one). As mentioned previously, a spacer may be needed, but having said that a friend of mine is almost 7ft and he finds my guns easy to use. Tony Quote Link to post
Phantom 631
Forgot! Scope I would go for the Hawk High Def Range largest objective lens possible, I have had no problems with the Ultrafire lamps, mine have 300 lumens and are great for out to 40 yards through the scope (further for spotting). Ideation 8,217
I went to a gunshop and shouldered a few of them today and i must say i was attracted to the s410 carbine, had a very nice feel to it! Quote Link to post
SEAN3513 7
have a look HERE worth a look.....cracking set up for the money Quote Link to post
Tyla 3,179
If you are buying new then have a think about .20 cal, im not sure which manufacturers do a .20 but its well worth it. I've shot a single shot .20 Falcon FN19 since 1999. I've bought and sold a range of multi shots since but always ended up using the same old single shot because i knew the gun inside out and love the flat shooting of the .20. I still use the same gun now and have no intention of changing. The benefits of the .20 cal far outway the benefits of modern multi shot, regulated rifles IMO. Quote Link to post
jasper65 6
I picked up a Daystate Air Ranger .177 a couple of years back ideation! I have to say apart from the weight of the rifle when fully loaded with equipment its a total pearler of a rifle. I average around 240 shots on a fill! you would probably get more in .22, its also pretty Lethal in the accuracy department too but then again I think alot of these Pre Charge rifles are. like mentioned above the only issue I have is weight, all in its around 10.5 LBs! this is fine off a Bipod or resting buy freehand shooting up at squirrels I find it a bit of a lump Jasp Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
For lamping I have a 120 lumen Active Cree LED torch, this runs on 2xAA batteries, gives about 7 hours light off that, focusable beam with a dimmer as well! I know it is fairly pricy at £25, but it does crome from Tesco's catalogue, so if it do go wrong it is easier to sort out. I have my torch in a scope mounted clamp. Total set up was under £35! Works as well! Other good points about it, full metal case, will put up with downpours and it is easy to change the batteries on! Quote Link to post
