Ray Mears 272
just got back from lamping with borderboys from this website we was ment to be taking his two bull xs and my whippet x but his dad had fed them earley so he wouldent be able to take them.. but we decided to go and just take my dog for a few runs and test the new lamp out. so with the blitz in one hand and the 17 amp battery on me back.. we set off. we got into the first feild and saw a rabbit running across the hedge line it was abit of a stupid slip.. but the rabbit dident want to do in the hedge and decided to run though a tiny gap in a fence and resulting in my dog bouncing of it on to the next feild were there is normally a few in a ditch in the middle of the feild so i wasent going to shine the lamp until we was by it because these rabbits aint stupid as soon as that lamp hits them thay run for there life but before i got chance to swith the lamp on a rabbit got up not 5 yrds form me i slipped the dog without swithing the lamp on the dog put a couple of turnes in to the rabbbit by then i had swithed the lamp on it it made the last decision of its life and decided to straight line it to the bushes just as the dog was about to strike the rabbit jumped about 3 foot in the air but the dog took it out the air and the first was in the bag we was planning on doing some pritty big felids witch made my clulight look like a hand torch but the blitz lit the whole f****r up and there it was in the beam squatting just under a fence it had nowere to go with the nearest bush or hedge 100 yrds away it was a gonner after a short course second in the bag after that we decided to call it a night and head of home. i must say i am well pleased with the new lamp although a bit heavy at times its a great lamp took some pics while i was out good hunting and all the best whippet boy :thumbs-up: Quote Link to post

Rabbithunter 456
well done. them big batteries can be a bit of a handful at times, i made a wee harness for mine, its basically an over the shoulder carry strap, with an extra strap which goes across my waist, holds the weight a lot easier Quote Link to post
