Mixing it with charlie

Recommended Posts

Went for a quick scout on Saturday night with Reynadehunter. Both our bitches are still learning there trade, but are coming on grand, taking the odd bunny and showing interest in anything that moves. My bitch is a Sulk/grey—coll/deer, while RH dog is whippet/bull, a cracking looking bitch.

Anyway as this was my first Lurcher to own, I was hoping I would get the training right, and with help from most of the lads on the site I think I am getting there, I hope.

First slip resulted in a bagged bunny, one for Paris. Next bunny was in and out of the ditch, but in the end Sach did the trick and number 2 for the bag. We had a great night slipping the bitches, and then we came across Charlie.

Paris had seen Charlie before and had a rag or two; Sach was only interested because a pair of eyes was in the beam. Both bitches were slipped and dispatched Charlie with ease, Paris done most of the damage, the bull in her kicked in and Charlie was dispatched.

Paris had a slip on her own on another Charlie, great course issued and end result was another Charlie. We had a great night, both bitches showing great improvement and I hope they will continue to progress in their training.

It was the biss, we had to lurchers out that night. I have trained my bitch for the past five months, all them nights in the rain, and really in the past few weeks she has clicked. I really dont want her for charlie, she is more of a pet really, kids would kill me if she came home broke up, that was her first and last look at charlie.

She has come on great with the bunnies, I know she has a long way to go, still plenty of training ahead, but at least I can see my hard work paying off.

The other bitch we had out that night belongs to reynardhunter, a good looking bitch, whippet/bull, mad for charlie, he took her from a fella few weeks ago, luckly f****r had no training to do with her, good bitch.

Your baby is going through her paces I take it.

She is learning to hunt up and flushed a grouse today :icon_eek: , amazing stuff, as they are far and few between round these parts
