my whippet dog is not eating and is vomiting a small bit of blood

Recommended Posts

when i went out to feed the dogs tonight my blue whippet dog would'nt come out of the box to eat and he is usualy first so i took him out and put his food infront of him but he put his nose up to it and went back into the box so when i was finished feeding the other dogs i took him for a short walk in the park outside my house and he seemed his normal self and he had a crap that was solid so i just thought theres a first time for everything maybe he's not hungry or he is a bit out of sorts because one of my lurcher bitchs is in heat so i brought back and tryed to feed him again but he still had no interest in it but when i put him back in the pen he started to vomit so i turned on the lights to see what he had got up and it was a white foamy felm with small clothy bits of blood in it but other wise he seems ok his eyes are bright and his gums are nice and pink.can anyone tell what i should do or how long it can go on before i should get realy worried.this is him in the pic he's coming on five years old and i have him since he is six weeks old

I don't know mate, but vomiting blood don't sound good. He been eating bones maybe and cut himself inside somewhere? stab in the dark that mind. Or had a knock.

out today he could of picked up some rabbit bones in the feild but that would'nt be anything new but i dont think they would make him sick but thanks mate

thats your problem dont feed him maybe a drop of caster oil to help him get it out the other end when he stops getting sick and he should be grand in couple a days

if he was poisoned he would be panting and white in the gums the cod liver will help settle his stomac bot it wont clean him out the fact that he has a solid stool might mean he has problems both ends
