runforyourlife 361
A father and son wanted to catch a pike or two. And had been ringing and asking me for a quite a while. I picked them up at 6.00pm and we were back for 8.30pm. The problem was that the kid doesnt like sitting still, lol. So i had told them if they wait for the right evening he wont have to sit still for long. Anyway it turned out not to bad. And they were very happy with the end result. It was also a good laugh. I had a fish which was quite stunning, fin perfect and look at the vivid colours and markings.. As you can see by the fins on the other fish, they had just come off the spawn. It was just a shame that there was no real big fish involved. As in the past i have had some real clonkers for folk from this particular venue..

Malt 379
Nice one Russ! I know what it's like having a kid who won't sit still.. My 8 year old boy loves fishing but can't keep still for more than 30 seconds! The last time I took him he was hopping from rock to rock like a penguin..
baw 4,360
Nice photos mate, I used to like catching pike as a kid when the trout go off about noon. Just goes to show how many folk out there aren't capable of catching the simplest of predators, a pike will take anything from a fly to a lump of Makerel and yet some folk can't catch them

I sat for a year on a res. 3 times aweek and caught 3 fish!!(there were meant to be no pike in this water) Fishing exclusively for a fish spotted spawning in the 6000acre venue. I dont think a lump of makerel would have tempted it mate... Out and out Bream feeder. No numpty pike. If i had not known the water i took them to, and the features under water. We most definatly wouldnt have had these fish. Unless a full day had been spent..
