born ferreter 1 Posted April 10, 2011 Report Share Posted April 10, 2011 Hi, I was just wondering about what I should be taking on a good days ferreting and also shooting? Iv had a successful first season with the ferrets picking up plenty of tips about what to do and what not but next season will be my first proper season shooting. Any surgessions would be great. Knifes, spades, torches etc Nets depend on how large your sets are, maybe a dozen would do, maybe a hundred.... I'd take 30 to begin with, if that ain't enough, get more. Knife, can't go wrong with an opinel, you'll get for under a £10. born ferreter 1 Posted April 10, 2011 Author Report Share Posted April 10, 2011 When I go my bag consists of 3 jills 2collars, about 30nets different sizes and weights of nets (mainly 4z and don't really want to use them next season) food, some string/rope a spade what me mate brings and some food for the ferrets Quote Link to post Share on other sites

I said that's the lightest i go - if i'm just off for a stroll with the mutt and the missus for an hour. But the ferret i take i would happily do a 20 odd holer, maybe a bit more and she'd get it done, but i usually just stick to small sets. If i was planning on doing anything decent sized i'd take a few. Heaviest i travel would usually be - 100 or so purse nets poke / stop nets 3 dogs 6/8 ferrets. locator and collars spare locator selection of knives couple of spades Bar Secateurs Petrol strimmer couple of shotguns game carriers food / drink medi kit quad pickup truck Quote Link to post Share on other sites
