Favourite lures or other tackle that we never actually use !.

Came across these fellows at the back of my cabinet of wonders . I remember buying them for 10 or 20 pence each from the bargain bucket of a tackle stall at a country fair a few years ago .

I've only once actually used one in anger.

They are such great little things I just can't bring myself to use them in case I lose one . I know its silly .

Has anyone else a favourite lure or bit of gear they don't actually want to risk getting wet or lost !.

 

Or am I just a sad weirdo with an unnatural attachment to his rubber bull-heads?

I have a box full of lures i am attatched to!!!! Use 80lb braid and you will never lose a lure again! I will take a few photos of my pike-luring friends and post them.

When even so-called "modern-cyber-age man" can be beguiled by the gaudy contents of a lure-box or tackle-shop display its not so hard to see how our ancestors managed to win the souls of natives around the world with a few bits of mirror and coloured beads .

 

I had this one for Christmas some time in the early 70's . Obviously did'nt use it much as i still have it . I think it is called a River Runt

Got loads i'm scared to lose, discontinued colours/lures mainly

 

Lost a favourite lure a few weeks back, using mono for the first time in ages too back to braid for me! Caught my pb lure caught pike on it and was gutted to say the least. Can't find another in the same colour for love nor money
