bait gone, no rat

hi all been seting my rat traps on my littal spot for a week naw and evry time i go back the bate has gon but no rat in the trap has any had this happen to tham and is there any think i can do to stop it i think it,s mice can any one help thank

Depends what kind oof trap you are using. i would set it then tap it with a thin LONG stick to find out how lightly it is set, if it is set lightly enough even a mouse will set it off.

hi there just rat cages there very light to set off if it is a mause is there any thing i can do to stop them when i go to where they are set the trap has been set off but nothing in them

sit it on a slab or something, and put finer mesh around it, then if it is a mouse setting it off at least it should still be in there so you can see if this is the problem. And i take it that te trap isn't being moved? (a Badger may be nosing it out the way and taking the bait)

could be baby rats too or mice if rat slicks are there then its the greys thats taking it
