secretagentmole 1,701
The best pellets are the one your gun likes best, some people swear by AA Field Diablos (os is that Diablo Fields?). Presently I am using Daystate FT pellets in my BSA and it seems to like them. The thing to do is try lots of pellets, there is a pellet swap section on here somewhere! Bunnies! This time of year they are out day and all night, busiest times still dawn and dusk though! Best thing to do is go over, find a field that is under attack from bunnies, sit in a corner and watch! Watch where they come out from, where they run to, where they feed. Then get yourself into position, be downwind of them (ie wind blowing from bunnies to you). Be slow and careful in your movements, and speak to a guy called pianoman on here. He is a superb shot and a superb hunter! He will help you as much as he can! I am fairly new back to this (I used to shoot rabbits from under beach houses)! He will be able to offer you a lot of good advice so you enjoy your shooting! Quote Link to post
fry 209
have a good practise on paper targets an when you are consistantly putting pellets where you want them move on to rabbits. aim between the eye and the ear. knowing what distance you are shooting is the key to sucess if in doubt dont take the shot.cheers. 1 Quote Link to post

19powell90 89
Hi pal Best pellets are round heads - air arms, jsb, fx & daystate are all made be the same company jsb and comr in 2 different head sizes 5.51/5.52. Set a target at 25m and zero your scope to this range, practice hitting a 1" size circle ( 2p coin ) and then practice at all ranges up to 50m in 5m increments so you get to know your holdover/under. Hope this helps Atb Scott Quote Link to post
markha 99
Just as Scott says, zero at 25m and 'generally speaking' your mildot holdover will be 1-ish mildot per 5m increment in distance - generally, this does depend on you pellet weight and ftlbs of your rifle. Quote Link to post
19powell90 89
To kill a rabbit cleanly aim behind the eye and below the ear! Quote Link to post
rossy08 33
dont go stinking of your best aftershave...... get your hunting clothes and lob them out side and forget them for a few days, come rain or shine...dry them out if needs be and never wash them again... but as above make shure you can put the pellet in the right place..more important than anything elce. all the best with it mate.
