Blue one 89 Posted March 19, 2011 Report Share Posted March 19, 2011 Pre ban, how long did hard worked coursing dogs last for? Did they burn out after 3 to 4 years or so, or, did they last further? How many seasons, did they go on for, when worked hard, 3 or more times a week? Fen field ect? Was their a high %, that did not make the grade, of jacked? Cheers. Quote Link to post
macca 83 Posted March 19, 2011 Report Share Posted March 19, 2011 ive a dog here that run the fens twice a week from 10 months untill 6years old ,3 hares each time out as my main dog ,as he got older the younger dogs took priority but he still ran twice a week but not hes full quota of 3 hares each session i retired him fully last seson at 8 1/2 but could still run half decent now i reckon Quote Link to post

border lad 1,047 Posted March 20, 2011 Report Share Posted March 20, 2011 Lads I kept dogs for many a year, and I never kept pensioners, its the business your in, I never kept a dog, more than 7 year old, they have a great life up to then fed,on the best and exercised,every day some run Hares, 4 times a week, ((( when they were in top condition, some only a couple a times a week, thats when there was abundance of Hares, all my dogs lived to run, and loved to run, ((tough its a Hard life, Quote Link to post
