Advice Welcomed

Recommended Posts

Hi. Am new to site and a novice air gunner. Have been researching options and am attracted to Air Arms products. I have a rat problem in my garden where I keep a small flock of chickens. I also have quite a few woodpigeon and the odd rabbit eying up my veg patch! My dilemma is with a budget of about £450 am I better offgoing for a Secondhand package which would inlcude scope, pumps bags etc or buy a new rifle and wait to add accessories as I can afford them. I have already made the mistake of buying a cheapish new Cometa and its simply not up to the job. Any advice from the more experienced very welcome.

As you have mentioned a pump, i take it your after a PCP? (clever me eh? :tongue2: ) If it was you i would go for a 2nd hand S200, theres someone selling one on here for £350 with silencer, 10 shot conversion, scope, pellets and sling. That leaves you with £100 to buy a pump or divers bottle, which you should get one for 2nd hand no prob.

Another gun to look at is the BSA Ultra. Ive just seen one on another site for £400 for gun, scope, silencer, sling, bag and pump. Have a look round the sales sections on other sites and hopefully come across someone local to you with a bargain.

If its a spring gun your after, you will get a great gun for your budget, 2nd hand or new. You do get more for your money 2nd hand but its always best to do a face to face deal when buying 2nd hand

Cheers

Have to agree with most of what's been said. Personally, if I were you with that budget, I'd look at something second hand. You should be able to pick up an Air Arms S410 or a BSA Ultra, as mentioned, plus charging gear and scope for that money.

Don't write off springers though, might be just the thing for you. I'd be considering anything Weihrauch or Air Arms if I were you.

Hey Grimbo,

If i was you i'd pick up a brand new Spring Rifle, (some may disagree :whistling: )Their More or less problem free, No hassle with running out of Air or filling up Dive Bottles :wallbash: Its just Cock it and fire.Luvly Jubly. You can Pick up a brand New AirArms Tx200 with a decent scope for that money or a nearly new Prosport, Other options are anything in the Weirauch range over £350 Or even a Bsa Lightning would do the job.
