wilson4347 5
What are peoples thoughts on the Baikal .410 hushpower, for use on pigeons, dony yet have a shotgun cert, but wanting to get one. Can anyone recommend a good shotgun for a beginner? Thanks Quote Link to post
COMPO 54
Baikal's per se are good, cheap, reliable, tough guns.......410's are a bit limited for pigeon shooting on the wing i have the 12gauge baikal hushpower.....they take a bit of getting used to with the moderator widening the barrel.....getting point of aim takes practice get a silenced gun maybe even a 410 but i dont think it would be the best for pigeons (unless you are shooting ferals in barns) i also have a standard baikal 410 besides the moderated 12gauge baikal. good luck getting a gun.....trying one out is the only way to see if it fits you and you can use it Quote Link to post
pest hunter 151 15
I love my new baikal hushpower .410 but would not use it for shooting birds on the wing as said. I would get a good 12g as a first gun. Quote Link to post
goldfinger 135
Get a 12 gauge for flighing birds, preferably a multi choke,if you are buy a fixed choke gun ideally it should be 1/2 1/4 or 1/4 1/4 don't start with to tight a choked gun on pigeons. jackinbox99 41
I agree with COMPO, the silencer on hushpowers does take a bit of getting used to when your aiming at things. You soon get used to it though. Any reason why you need a hushpower? Obviously if noise is an issue then thats your way forward, but a 12bore would be better than a .410 for pigeons, especially if your a starter. If noise isnt an issue then your better off with a 12bore o/u or s/s, maybe even a semi. Quote Link to post
