ratting king 0 Posted February 9, 2011 Report Share Posted February 9, 2011 hey, im new to all this so it would be great if you more experienced people could give me some advice. i have a Labrador which i take on 12 boar shoots, but iam interested in getting a lurcher, as iam a keen ratter and also enjoy rabbiting i will be hoping to work the dog at least once a week but it must have good with other dogs and able to rat and rabbit. what would be the best lurcher X to buy and how much should i be willing to pay? iam will be hoping to buy the lurcher at the end of summer sort of august/september time is this the best time too do this? any help would be much appreciated Quote Link to post

cocker 2,655 Posted February 9, 2011 Report Share Posted February 9, 2011 i would get a bedlington x whippet if i possibly could, i would be expecting to pay around £150 maybe £200 for a genuine bred first cross, or second generation, worker to worker bred, and if possible i would buy it late spring, so you have all of the long summer days to play about with it, and socialise it, train it etc, Quote Link to post
