zini 1,939
Nice write up there Davy buddy and pictures too . I agree that all the scores were very good for the strong intermittent winds that we were shooting against . Sometimes the wind didn’t seem strong at the shooter end, but 40 metres up range the pellet would travel an easy 2 mildots right hand side so wind estimation was key. Even at 15 metres the pellet was travelling almost a good mildot right on some of the targets . All of us did really well I think to get the scores that we did in those conditions . It’s just a case of you needed to be there to see what problems we were facing to knock the target over to fully understand how difficult it was. Thanks for the comments about my 50 metre standing shots Ste and Davy, the HW100T didn’t let me down and for her first ever HFT run out I think that she held her own really well. And Andy the darts was really good fun pal wasn’t it? I really enjoyed it. So 22 shots out of a possible highest score of 21 shots wasn’t that bad then for my first ever go at it? It must have been beginners luck. I won’t tell anyone else Andy about how Adele kicked your arse too at darts (I’ll keep it a secret) LOL . See lads it’s not just me with a partner who is a better shot that me, Adele is also a cracking shot like my Laura is. I’m glad that the scope and mildot calibration was of some use to you Andy too, and now you can see the benefits of using hold under now when normally you would just use your cross hairs on the target . Shooting trajectory true gives much better results as you saw on the 20 metre targets like that bell target that we moved to 20 metres to prove my technique. ¼ mildot hold under and it was ringing like the bells of St Clements .
