Guest TERRIERCENTRAL
Hi all well will be looking for a new running dog pup soon and no cross has realy made me want to change from what I have I have been running a saluki firstx grey and was wondering if any other cross can give me what I am looking for I am wanting to dog /bitch to beable to run well fast stamina and not run out of steam I have been out with my saluki x lamping for a good 7 hours and she never slowed once and I am wanting it to beable to take rabbit and pre ban ov course hare deer and the odd fox . Don't think the bull X is what I need also don't want anything to small or to large . I also haven't seen alot of crosses run so carnt judge them so if anyone has a cross that can give me what I am after let me no what cross it is please don't recoment a cross if you don't have no experience of the cross ie: dnt want you just guessing what could be good for me let me no what you think could suit me thanks atb jack Quote Link to post

If that cross has/is working for you then stick with it. I run 2 lots of 2nd Gen dogs, One saluki x Grey, and yes like you say will work and work all day and night. The other Deerhound/grey x Saluki/grey, again fast, powerful, brains, stamina. Both dogs with excellent feet. I've not changed from any of the two breeds for over a decade. They suit my needs and the terrain here. Quote Link to post
Chid 6,835
i run a lurcher x lurcher although he as bull through him only thing he aint took yet is deer (still legal over here).. but he will be tried ... he is a very usful dog ... when your looking dont knock the bitza bred dogs , they make good alrounders if bred right i know you said dont guess what would do you, but just thought id say ... a mate runs a saluki/wheaton/grey and he said its a very good dog will go out day and night and dont mind tackling the foxes Quote Link to post

Hunting Lad 50
stick with what you know mate. Saluki based lurchers are the way forward if you get the right type they make good allrounders.... Quote Link to post
