the lurcher is the athlete of the canine world and is expected to produce the goods over and over again in a single night so to think yhey wont need replenishing is ludicrouse. the amount of energy us

Haha hickey you say ye had dogs years,an ye asking if ye give ye dog a drink hahaha

no need 2 take any water,if you know the land you work you should know a few watering holes,i,ve known for few dogs over heat whilst being out dureing the day and die,so it would,nt be a bad idea if y

A squirty bottle is ok if your a clean freak i suppose. A puddle/lake/stream etc is good enough though. Just dont let them do much more then wet their mouth though because it will "blow" them and then you may as well just go home. As for chocolate, its a big NO, its poisonous to dogs. You CAN get doggy chocolate buttons from pet shops if you want to treat them.

a squirt isnt a drink nd they dont blow then, known some strange stuff put down for dogs in ponds, never had a dog die from eating a bit of mars bar?you can not always know the land your lamping can you  atb mick

If i was going to be doing a lot in a night, i'd stick a bottle of electrolytes or something in the truck and give the dogs a drink and top up when needed.

Carry some in a small squirty bottle in your pocket a couple of squirts into the dogs mouth occasionally or after any really trying runs helps

If i think its going to be a big day/night, or if the terriers are doing alot of water work in the cold, i take lucozade sport or glucose water. Very seldom have to use it but when you need it you really need it so well worth keeping in the van

freedom of speech

just that some dont feed their dogs before they take dogs out on lamp, then run 30+ rabbits it can take its toll on a dog aswell as the walk home even fit dogs need water dont they?

While out lamping do you take water for lurchers when working hard on lamp?,give us a few tips lads? i used to take a squirty jiff lemon, watered down with a bit of honey in while walking dogs on lamp to give them a squirt after a fair few runs.what do you give yours?

no lad they can drink from a puddle if they need to,if they are well kept, well fed and fit they wont need anything else until they get fed when they get home.no need for all the fussing,i'm surprised a lot of ye go lamping at all with all the worrying ye do about it,worse than women ye are.
