deanflute 550
There seems to be alot of talk on here about deerhounds lately, are they becoming the new "must have"? I know they have been used in lurcher breeding for a very long time and are capable dogs but as I say there just seems alot of interest in them at the minute Quote Link to post

Just looking through the last 6 or 7 pages there is quite a bit of deerhound talk where as 3 or 4 months ago there was nothing. It's only an observation and I've got nothing against the breed what so ever Quote Link to post

And I'm not knocking Bull or Saluki X;s; Never had a Bull X, but have seen some good 'uns ! I've had pure and X Salukis, some good, some not so good ! LOL! But breeds come into fashion and out of fashion to some folk ! But some people just keep to the cross they know and trust; be it Collie X, Deer X, or whatever,. Don't go with the new fad..... stick with what does the job for you Cheers. 1 Quote Link to post

Davestone 25
Not much experiance at Roe, was'nt me chosen quarry pre ban, but knew a fair few lads that ran em, they most ran saluki cross day time, no doubt a good deerhound cross would put up a good show though Quote Link to post

morton 5,369
Young lads seem to follow the latest must have lurcher,i like to think that once theyve cut their teeth on the "must have lurcher" they realise they need something a little more versatile and go to the old type tried and tested lurchers.
