ferret seasons?

ok i get the ferrets come in to season when the nights get shorter and thedays longer but how meny times a year will they come in to season? and what is the hunting season for ferrets as ive seen a lot of posts going on about the sasons almost over, can you not work them all year?

Last couple of years mine have been in season 3 and 4 times each .I work my end of august till end of april ,might try a few places out in the summer but usually the covers got me beat

iv always been told that the hunting season for ferreting is after the first frost on the ground till you start getting reasonably big babys when gutting the rabbits

everyones different mate as on the post before this most people only ferret when the months have R in and other ferret till there is young apearing in the older rabbits

they come into season like you say and stay in season till they are taken out by mateing to a whole hob (kitts) or a snipped hob or given the jill jab we are starting to find young in the does now so not long left now till the end of the season.

well it looks like ive got till sept to get my gear sorted , as ive a most missed this season. yuo say they come in to heat 3/4 times? guess im going to have to get hold of a sniped hob then.

for me its salmon fishing march to sept then the ferrets oct to feb but then some have permisions where they ferret all year round
