to get the lamp to fit i had to slide my scope forward and re-zero :( but its near enough done now.i must say the dimmer switch is a god send!

Then it was really starting to get dark so i went and fitted to lamp to the gun and gave it a go,i shot 2 targets the had a quick scan around one of my fields and i spotted a pair of eyes (id also seen 2 rabbits when light) i dimmed the lamp a bit as not to spook bugs gave it around 2 mildots hold over and DAMN! went straight over his head lol , im zeroed at 25-meters roughly 30 yards and this was about 45 yards away ,the bunny still sat there and i quickly reloaded and tryed to get him in my sights ,but he then trotted off 10 yards behind a tree.I waited 5 mins but he didnt re appear so i left it and will go back out tonight when its darkened right up and hopefully see a few :gunsmilie:

heres it mounted,

Hi Brad,

That’s the same lamp as I have buddy, you wont go wrong with it.

I use mine with different coloured filters and a IR home made filter and it’s deadly on rabbits.

Regarding your shot with 2 mil dots hold over at 45 yards, next time try x6 mag with 1 of a mildot hold over with them pellets and a rough 11.5 ft / lbs of power to get a perfect shot buddy.

2 would of put you at a range of about 55 yards in .22 with those pellets.

Keep up the good work and keep me posted on your progress.

thank you si! will do ,i had the mag on x9 as it was most clear but i also find the optical lense adjuster handy aswell.

anyway im going to give it about another half hour and then go out,ill set it to x6 mag and 1 mildot hold over at roughlt 45 yards :) ive seen him in that spot a few times so hopefully hes there again! ,i must also say the silencer is a god send as its whisper quiet

will let you know how i get on pal :)

cheers for the help!!

You must of been pretty close then Brad buddy as 2 mil dots at x9 mag at 45 yards is just about spot on with those pellets according to Chairgun Pro from a 25 metre zero (27.2 yards).

Could it of been your beathing letting you down buddy?

yes si i thought i was very close but controlling my breathing is just one of those things that come with practice i suppose.

Just went out for 20 mins,i spotted 2 in my field again(same pair i think) but the shot was through our stock fencing,i looked down the scope and was just controlling my breathing when he shot behind a fence post :( i looked at the other one which wasnt behind a post haha,i sorted my breathing and thought i was spot on the KZ pulled the trigger and it jumped haha sort of done a backflip,i assume ive got him only to see him leg it along with his partner in crime :(:icon_eek: im starting to think my zero needs tweeking as i was pretty confident that id got him.Anyway i left that field to calm down and took a bit of a walk, was going up a footpath and flicked the lamp on and scanned the field, nothing!, so i walked a touch further(walking slowly taking my time ) when i had a weird feeling like someone was watching haha and had an erge to look further up the footpath,i turned the lamp on and shon it up the path, and theres a bug sat right in the centre of the path, i crouched ready to take a shot and he shot off to the hedge lmao,so nothing in the bag yet :( . but im going out again in an hour or so,just giving them time to re-appear  .

just a question but is there a rule of thumb or a formula for changing the mag how is changes your zero ?

thanks lads :)

Hi Brad,

Your zero will never change with your scopes magnification buddy.

If you’re zeroed at 25 metres on x9 and then go to x4 you are still on the cross hair on x4 to hit your zero range.

Your aim points on your scope will change though.

The rule of thumb is the higher the mag the more you will need to compensate for hold over and under.

Down load Hawke’s own ChairGun Pro free software mate and you will be able to work out your own aim points to a pretty good degree from your own living room.

Nothing beats your own calibration though for complete accuracy.

Si
