bought grown pups 9 month years a go ,to run on, when you could sell all game easy without a hitch over the border or local , it wasnt out of place to have 3 home bred dogs and a few bought in to litghten the load as when you are out 3 or 4 times aweek running big land driving big stubbles as they used to keep them to at least november, dogs didnt last long 3 or 4 season without getting sore etc and losing pace 3 was my normal amount but always had one coming through ,winter 97 we took treble figures no two or three dogs would take thta much as they didnt catch them all,now no demnad as much so take what you need and just not as easy to purvey your wares lol

id have to be in some seriously shitty circumstances to buy in an adult dog         i dont think peopel relise how much it actually helps, if ye raise the pup yaself

na ye aint readin it right, i have said only a mate would get mine,....   an if i wa sthat hard up,.... id only take 1 off a mate..............     so friendship would be the price, cash an dogs

way i see it whin, if i wanted a pup, id breed 1, if i couldnae afford to cover the cost of stud, meds, feed an any extra costs that could occur i wouldnae breed..............simples...........   wh

I would never have an adult dog. Did it once and it was shit, sent it back to its original owner. Pups all the way now for me. As for price for a pup, lurcher pups go for £150+. A pup fetching £300 would have to bred out of something pretty special. Iv seen pups in the countymans for £700s or even a grand. Preban 5 out of 5 hare dogs were going for silly money.

It disgusts me that certain people wont pay for a dog/pup. They are usually the same c**ts who treat it like shit and if it gets an injury kill it or dump it and get another. Attitudes like that do the dog world no favours.

way is see it is all the half decent lamp dogs i have had, i have brought on from a puppy.......

i have had a few adult dogs over the years that come to me fuly grown or even as a gangly sapling

an to be frank i never bonded wae any of them, an they never ever seemed to do as good a job as a pup that was here since day dot, so to speak..........

i aint saying ye cannae buy/bring in a decent adult dog, just its to much of a gamble for me........

an as for a price of my dogs, if i had to put a value on them...........

well for me, the only thing i would ever accept for any dog/pup i decided to rehome for whatever reason

be it a fully working lamp dog or a sapling, is the price of friendship

cos after all if ye aint my mate, or at the least a mate of a very good mate, ye aint having the dog

id rather pts than let any dog of mine on the lurcher merry go round
