if you can get a solar panel about 10-20 watts it will keep your battery topped up,everything will be self contained

in summer you could use a small 12 volt fan to keep hutch cool in very hot weather,or a heat mat as used in reptile

tanks in winter,

Higgins.

good this as i was just thinking the same standing in shed with my little head lamp on! i have a few car batterys spare just need to find a light now!

car batteries are no good, but if they are spare i'd use them,a leisure battery is the best type as they are designed for many discharging /charging cycles, also get the highest amp rating you can afford, the reason for this is so you never run the battery down to more than half of it's capacity and therefore will aid in recharging and prolong battery life,

good idea that but how much are solar panels , would like to get proper power out there at some point got a little fridge freezer out there ready for the day lol

the light i got is a camping caravaning one

Chilly go on ebay and find the cheapest 20 watt panel you can afford, make sure it's a monocrystalline type, not amorphous or polycrystalline as they are not too efficient, the battery you get should be a leisure battery type as in caravans and any low wattage led or caravan type lighting and you should be right with that setup, any detailed info you require on this subject give me a pm and i will advise you,

Just wire in a security light to a plug and plug it in as your going out to see them that way it wont be on all the time and you will have plenty light and with a 200 or 300 volt bulb it wont be heavy on the elecy
