dog keeps weeing

My 4 month old pattadale x lakeland keep weeing on. The floor but i keep asking if she wants to go. And i open the door but no the seconds latershe pisses on. The floor how can i stop this

Wait outside till she does piss then praise her massively as soon as she's done it, then let her in ! It can take a while! It's a case of watching them like a hawk ! Good luck !

iv just getting my boy lurcher pup same age let out in bk garden pisses but soon let it in does nothig then without fail piss on floor that five min after being bk garden in so chase bk out after giving her bollocking and dont mean hit it shout at it but like said above just got keep at it soon pic it up when get little bit older they only young never had this problem with me terriers

my young pup used to do it but hes grew out of it now i think its just excitement or maybe nervousness, is she deliberately wee'ing or is it just coming out, if it is don't be hard on her because it mabe something she cant control that'll just make her worse, whats the pup like is she hyper or anything like that ?

Have you checked that she hasnt got a urine infection, we had a bitch that was a problem like that and the vet gave a slow releasing antibiotic and she is fine now. Just a thought.

You are talking about a dog here, not a child of at least 6 years old! If you stand in a doorway 'asking' a puppy if it 'needs to wee' then you shouldn't be surprised if it wees where you don't want it to: especially if it is cold, wet, raining etc outside.

I'm not trying to be scabby with you but use a bit of common sense and treat the dog like a dog which is as follows:

 

First, take pup outside. Do not give the pup a choice of inside or outside.

SHUT door behind you so dog cannot get back inside.

If necessary carry the pup to where it normally wees, regardless of the weather, but I do try and get my pups peeing somewhere dry like against a wall away from the prevailing wind/rain and better still under cover like under a big tree, a patio or a lean to roof.

Wait with pup until it pees: then praise like mad at the same time pup is peeing.

Take pup back inside.

Job done.

 

A pup of 4 months is most likely also starting to get its adult teeth which can affect house training. It may also be starting to realise that you are a soft touch: are you? It is important to be both firm and consistent. Most terriers are clever and stubborn and will walk all over you given half a chance: don't ASK the pup things, TELL it. Dogs don't really understand questions as such.

 

Also once the pup has got in the habit of peeing inside it realises that it is much easier to not go out in the nasty cold, wet weather. So make those changes now before you have a dog which only ever pees inside: seen it happen before! Good luck!
