hi all

I’ve lost 5 from my pond 2 x small koi carp and 2 good sized golden orfe around 4lb the other was a goldfish, there are still a good head of fish in so I’ve just put it down to the cold snap we had.

These are the only fish I’ve lost in 4 years; the cold certainly sorts out the weak unfortunately.

ive not seen any but on a 3 acre lake near me the ice was so thick that it started to sink when it thawed a little. Ive been more worried about that as the lake is only 5 ft in its deepest!

wouldnt be to bothered our lake is av 3 1/2 to 4 feet last winter froze for 7 weeks solid with ice to 8 inches we lost 5 fish and four of these were new stockies we put in a few days before it froze so put it down to a combination of stress and the ice i have had a walk round ours todat and a 1/5 is defrosted and touch wood still no sign of any dead
