DogMagic 461
I was hoping someone might be able to advise me on the above. I used to live in lancashire and loved it. I moved south 4 years ago and to be honest i wish i hadnt bothered! Lol! When i was in lancashire i used to visit the Yorkshire dales to stalk deer, shoot, ferret, work the dogs, fish…….. I am looking to go back to the lancs/yorks area, the dales being my ideal. I found a website called greenshifters and the rental prices look good to me but there is nothing in the dales. Can anyone suggest a way forward please? Does anyone know a website or company that specialize in small holding lets? Im not looking for a massive place (altho it would be nice! Lol!) I am not looking to achieve instant complete self sufficiency (altho again, it would be nice), i do expect to struggle in the short term and things get easier as I get work etc. Your thoughts, help, advice would be greatly appreciated. Might have to actually buy them tomorrow and see if they have classifieds in the paper version. Anyone else think of anything?

I spoke to the tenent farmers association too and they told me about auction marts. So i googled a load of auction marts in the area and they just refered me back to the estate agents. I even called richmond borough council and asked if they have anything. Apparently any that they get come up they are just selling on these days rather than letting them. Trouble is a small holding to rent in the dales is like gold dust so i dont think its going to be easy for me but i will get there.
BMH 0
Hi, There is one that has just come on the market (I did send off for details). 3 bedroomed farm house and up to 77 acres of hill grazing. It is in the middle of the Forest of Bowland near Stocks Reservoir. It is for rent and offers. (No guide price) However knowing the area could be quite expensive. You would probably be better with local land agents. ATB
bert the fert 28
Try Smiths Gore, they do a lot of rentals on sporting estates and in the countryside generally. Also you could try Richard Turner and Sons at Sawley near Clitheroe, they're land agents and auctioneers. Good Luck
