all.rounder 3 Posted January 6, 2011 Report Share Posted January 6, 2011 i was out with the mates today with the hawk and ferret.we got 4 rabbits.we just stopped at the side of the road and got into the field we ware only in the field and the farmer came over to us and ask ware we ferreting i says yes was it OK he said no problem work away then he said that he fund a dead ferret at the side of his lane and it had a locator on it and was it any good to us i says yes and he went home and got it.so it turned out a good day 4 rabbits a locator and some new permission Quote Link to post

all.rounder 3 Posted January 6, 2011 Author Report Share Posted January 6, 2011 that was the second time i was out with him and his hawk.i asked him that to and he says that the hawk would go for it. but what i seen of it it didn't take much notice of the ferret it just sat in the tree waiting for the rabbits to bolt. One time my ferret backed its arse(sandy colour ferret) out a rabbit hole, the goshawk went for it, but pulled up last minute as if it knew it was a ferret. With the bird in a tree, the ferrets can walk outside the hole and it will be fine. Accidents im sure could happen though Quote Link to post
