wuyang 513
I got a Canon eos 500d, but think that cost around £500 ish. Very nice camera and easy to use too. May have come down in price, there is also the 450d, which my mother has, both very good, not much in it at all, apart from mine can do hd video and slightly higher mega pix (not enough to make any difference). The lens that comes with it goes from 18mm to 55mm. Both have image stabiliser which is good. Shoots about 3.5 frames per second in sports mode. I also saved up and bought another lens (which is really good for shooting out in the field) for it which goes from 55mm to 250mm this also has image stabilser on it, i got this from a company on ebay (at a much reduced price), just make sure its not a refurbed lens for the same price though. I can't compare it to Nikon, because i haven't ever used one. But all i can say is its suited me down to the ground for taking pics of my dogs, scenery and pics of the family..fantastic., also got mine from Jessops. atb wuyang
Romany 1,065
There are some good other makes of camera, not just the main two,,panasonic, olympus fuji etc all make exceedingly good cameras. Some of them alrounders, and some that will easily do wildlife. Edited January 1, 2011 by Romany
Coyotehunter 689
I agree Romany there are some really nice camera's out there, i like the look of those Sony NEX 5 , small but good , not sure on price though, but really if youre wanting somthing to take really nice shots with lots of interchangeable lens go with either Canon, or Nikon, i don't know if Jessops have used section, but i would go that route and save the extra money and put it towards some good glass
Romany 1,065
Theres always good deals on cameras, either locally or on the net..The camera I have now is the first one I bought new, the rest Ive had were second hand or refurbished, you have to creep before you walk.. Coyotehunter 689
Hey Mate , i'm not sure of Sony's range of lens's but something like a 70-200 or 70-300 if Sony does a lens in that range, like the women say a lens should be like a boyfriend " you can never have too much length"
