wirral countryman 2,110 Posted December 28, 2010 Report Share Posted December 28, 2010 Thinking about geting a Plummer terrier i have been for a while now it will mainly be for rating and just a dog if i go to any shows to take a long but i want try and start digging are these dog ok to go to ground or are they to big thanks? Hello mate,you will not get a sensible answer on here about Plummer's other than the lads like myself that own and work them,if you want some proper info pm the lads that work them,some lines work very well to ground but are hard to aquire and can be pricey,they have excellent nose and can work cover as good as any terrier I've owned,check out the sites Toka suggested and make your own mind up,atb,wirralman Quote Link to post

fireman 11,580 Posted December 28, 2010 Report Share Posted December 28, 2010 Put up a poll who can do what with there terriers and you might be surprised just what plummers can do mate,don't know many pats or lakies or even russells for that matter who can hold there own on a shoot,be it picking up or flushing but i know of a few plummers that can and the same dogs can earthwork also . I've worked 100% many different terrier's and dug with lots of well known lads and plummer's are as good as anything I've seen or owned in the right hands,they're very intelligent and need a lot of work but don't take kindly to being thrashed or beaten,a good plummer is capable of any work asked of it in the right hands,the reason you don't see that many is the price and the fact they have been marketed at middle class ownership,there are a few owned by working class lads like myself that get plenty of work and these dog's thrive on it,all a poll will do is show a small minority of lads on here,ask the same poll on a plummer site and it will be different,they are a minority breed ,as are bedlingtons,atb,wirralman Quote Link to post
tinytiger 897 Posted January 16, 2011 Report Share Posted January 16, 2011 Thanks every one will a bitch be ok i fort of a patterdale before a plummer but i fort they might be abi hard because im 14 but i will be going with my cuzon and a guy we close with who does alot of digging GET A PATT GOOD ALLROUND DOG as apure digging dog id go with the patterdale,as an all rounder a plummer takes some beating Quote Link to post
