darren watson 14
Hi all, I'm wondering who to go to for shooting insurance, is it worth shelling out for expensive cover through BASC or such like, or will cheaper cover do? Has anyone ever had to make a claim on their insurance, and how did it go? any chance of this being pinned for others to see? Edited December 22, 2010 by darren watson Quote Link to post
Phantom 631
I use BASA (through the airgun mags) for about £18.00 a year (Direct Debit price). Never claimed and hopefully will never need to Insurance is extremely useful in obataining permission though Phantom Quote Link to post

andyfr1968 772
I'm with the BASC and have been for many years. Same as Tony, just the basic deal and when you compare how much it could cost if, heaven forbid, something does go wrong a few pence a day is bloody good value Cheers. Quote Link to post

Phantom 631
just go with basc......unbeatable service I should hope it is for the 3 times as much as BASA price tag ! Best way to look at something such as insurance; is to match it with what you need or what you think you will need So personally I would not pay £60-£70 for Public Liability Cover when I can get that cover for less than £20. I'm not interested in badges, newsletters or legal advice that I don't need. I get what I pay for and thats basic no-frills PL Cover to the tune of £5,000,000 (used to be £2,000,000 Cant complain at that can I? Phantom Quote Link to post
PeakOil 352
BASC is best for me, covers airgun, shotgun, rifles, ferreting and I think some fishing / dog work? It is expensive but it is the only insurance most landowners / farmers are familiar with. Quote Link to post
Uncle Phil 0
I was with BASC but the price is to excessive now. £66 for the BASC does not compare with £7 every quarter for membership of the Countryside Alliance. BASC are going to have to do some pretty slick marketing to get people like me to pay that sum for what amounts to a pretty badge and the same £10m insurance that CA does. Quote Link to post
