joedog 8
The sire was called brin, his sire was owned by Sean M- who lined it to a bitch ,which was xxxddd with Minshaw x TomMcPhee,The dog Sean had was bred by me out of Traveller,so i would say there is a fair bit of the old lines in the Sire. The Dam has already been mentioned how she is bred Quote Link to post
rocky1 942
like i said earlier its a brand not a breed ,theirs 2 much diluted blood 2 be called minshaws, their lurcher 2 lurcher worker 2 worker Quote Link to post

redcharge 378
we have always had dogs over from liverpool and its a well known thing over here liverpool has the best working dogs in the uk,you only need to ask the irish as thats why we buy em, you couldnt be further from the truth i've lived in liverpool my whole life and lamped with a fair few of the lads around here and those that I havn't been out with i'll know somebody who has, and to be honest there's very few dogs that i'd own myself but I lamp up and down then the country and have seen some excellent dogs that i'd give my left bollock to own Quote Link to post
joedog 8
When you mate dogs like that ,it,s a gene pool, and you have to know the breeding way back to recognise types as there born,Singlehanded,s dog is a smart dog ,and longer than mine ,he has also thrown in colour to Brin,my one is more shortcoupled ,and resembling the old Minshaw type, there was also a really nice red bitch ,now this could of thrown to big jim i owned, or mother of traveller Grip. SHanded. . 110
how many pups did actucally thrown the old stuff What are you bothered for?? They are just a brand. . 1 Quote Link to post
dazzz 421
like i said earlier its a brand not a breed ,theirs 2 much diluted blood 2 be called minshaws, their lurcher 2 lurcher worker 2 worker so your point is rocky?????????????????????? only joking i know what you are saying and saying lol and yes they are lurcher to lurcher or worker to worker as you say, but the breeding still goes way back not like it would if you just bred a random worker from one end of the country and the other worker from the other end, so it's interesting to here from these lads to here what they know, because i dont think any man can tell you exactly how these dogs are bred Quote Link to post
bull101 35
SHANDED.. you say you want to see pics of dogs that look like the old stuff, but the pics that i have seen on this thread have shown dogs of similar breeding (all going back to minshaw stuff) yet some look completley different dogs. i know little about minshaw dogs and just looking at the pics people have posted, i would never tell that they have similar blood good thread keep it up Quote Link to post
rocky1 942
how many pups did actucally thrown the old stuff What are you bothered for?? They are just a brand. . i was only asking because yous keep going on about this old style Quote Link to post
dazzz 421
it must be interesting rocky or you wouldnt keep reading the post,,,,,,,people have used the minshaw name as a brand to sell pup's and that's unfortunate for the breeding,,,, but it doesnt mean all these modern day dog's are shit, the lad is simply trying to find out if there is any of the old type dog's about,, i dont see a problem with that,,, and i dont see why you should,, do you have a minshaw of any type????????????? joedog 8
I,ts easy to put a pit over a pure greyhound, and call it a lurcher ,but there is no past hunting history with either dog,the greyhound may of been a coursing breed or track dog,the pit a champion fighter, but what these dogs of mine have is good working pedigree(without the papers)which is known ,and kept going by a few of us. On the first page there is a pic of me with trav-in the pic there is a nice silver fox i caught with him one night ,i had already taken two with him ,and it ran across the road in front of me,i pulled up,and quietly sneaked into the field ,i then started to call with my hand ,and the fox came to the top of a hill, the moon also came out from behind clouds.I let trav go ,and he dissappeared over the hill ,as i ran to the top ,i put the lamp on ,and he had taken it in the moonlight in the corner of the field,i got a few quid extra for the pelt Quote Link to post
