brunty29cdo 5 Posted December 17, 2010 Report Share Posted December 17, 2010 you cant pigeonhole a specific cross as there as many excellent workers from all kind of crosses. it also depends on what kind of work you want to do with it. a small nimble whippet cross would work perfect for what i want,but not the best choice for hares on the fenns. nor would a fen dog be best suited to ferriting in small fields. just my opinion. It depends on what you want the dog for, what type of work, what type of quarry, how it's bred, who bred it, how was it weaned, how was it brought up as a pup, how was it entered to it's quarry, how is kennelled and fed, how is it conditioned and looked after, etc, etc.......
