skycat 6,174
Some bitches are really difficult: they only stand for a short time, and even then, I've had a bitch who couldn't conceive unless she was mated on day 21 -23 of her season. She did stand at the usual time (between 11 and 14 days) but didn't take. You can get a blood test done to show when the bitch is actually about to ovulate.
Romany 1,065
Had a few awkward bitches in my time One bitch we mated three times with no results, vet started doing swabs on her on the fourth attempton from the 10th day of her heat, , she wasnt ovulating, vet swabbed her every day, on the 20th day we got a phone call, vet had told the owner to get her to the stud dog immediately, our stud dog did the business (11pm at night) and she had 9 pups. Just an example not a rule..most bitches are spot on in everything from being mated to being good whelpers to good mothers, others are not..Get some professional advice to make sure there is no physilogical reason why she cant concieve or you will be just waiting your time..
