Headless rat!

Went to check my traps this morning and found this headless rat in one of my #110 bodygrips.

 

 

Both pairs of wooden sticks restricting the entrance/exit of the tunnel were in place so possibly abit of cannibalism!? :sick:

I had on at a farm at the farm cat ate it .The same as yours as it was just the head sticking out the cubby

Most likely canibalism, very common amongst rats. Had plenty of catches in the past where there has only been a tail or a couple of feet remaining. Grim little feckers.

Up side is though, it sometimes gives you a little less to dispose of.

Strange that the head was the first to go, i have always found them to start on the insides, ie through the gut.
