Guest bullterrier
Just heard on the radio the toon army have gathered outside St.James' Park protesting about the appointment of Peter Beardsley as Caretaker Manager. Sounds like its getting ugly up there....

gnasher16 31,421
Houghton been sacked was f*****g disgrace, the fact the said they need a manager with more experiance is bollox, since he retired he's alwaysbeen on a the bench - coach/assistant at spurs and he did something with ireland so that doesnt figgure, he's a good upcoming english manager who's done nothing but good. now another manager has to come in and get to grips with characters like barton and carrol and a shocked team, good luck with that. You say that but any old prat could have got Newcastle back up into the premiership with that squad.....i think the Newcastle fans are getting too carried away with where they are in the league and the good result against Sunderland its like its carrying you along on the crest of a wave....but the reality is Hughton is not a proven premiership manager,Newcastle might be 11th but they are 4 points away from the relegation zone theres still every chance they will be in a relegation battle come march !....Love or hate him Freddie Shepherd came out today and said Ashley has done the right thing. Pardew is not a massive name but could Newcastle attract a massive name ?....what Pardew is,is an experienced premier league manager....Hughton is not.I think Mike Ashley and his advisors understand a lot more about the reality of football than folk give him credit for. If Ashley was going for an experienced premiership manager wouldnt Martin O'neil be the obvious candidate , if it is Pardew who gets the job then he aint going for experience he is going for a puppet/yes man . craigyboy 1,274
what Pardew is,is an experienced premier league manager....Hughton is not.I think Mike Ashley and his advisors understand a lot more about the reality of football than folk give him credit for. ashley obviously knows feck all about football mate,if he did he wouldnt of appointed pardew, hes done feck all in the prem hes more of a manager to get teams out of the championship, which is what hughton did 1st time of asking Edited December 9, 2010 by craigyboy

gnasher16 31,421
What makes you think Martin o Neil would take the job.....Pardew is a scrapper,id love him back at West Ham....Chris Hughton seemed to be the players friend !....in a tough relegation battle you want a manager whos going to get stuck into the players not be their friend and rub their belly surely ! andy s410c 62
Can't believe he's been given a 5 1/2 year deal Pardew will be looking more around the 5 1/2 month deal....if he's lucky .

lanesra 4,007
I he was sacked as MANAGER of southampton, ah well he is only the puppet/yes~man now, Ashley has just awarded HIMSELF a 5 and a half yr contract, he may be a Billionaire through business but what does that prove in football NOTHING , proved by Alan Sugar , Gillett & Hicks , Simon Jordan ect, "HOW TO BECOME A MILLIONAIRE = BECOME A BILLIONAIRE AND BUY A FOOTBALL CLUB"

When folk talk about Ashley and the like they need to blame the club not the owner....nobody forced the powers that be to sell Newcastle to Ashley or Chelsea to Abramavich etc etc.....you cant sell somebody something and then moan when they do what they want with their own property ! That said i honestly believe Ashley will ultimately do good for the club, after all....if it wasnt for him they possibly would have been in administration by now....something the everyday football fan understandably forgets. Its a club to the supporters but a buiseness interest/hobby to an owner....and thats the trouble sometimes with selling out to whoever offers the most money.
