hard nights lamping

Recommended Posts

when you are taking your dogs out for a hard nights graft how soon before you take them out do you feed them?

do you feed your dogs as normal or do you change the feed time to suit what ever time of the night you are taking them out. and also do you give them anything extra on or with there meal to aid them through the night.

I guess a lot depends on how often you work your dog and it's diet..   A dog can run on empty as long as it has fat reserves to draw it's energy from. If you work your dog often and for extended pe

i think if youve got to put electrolyte or any other supplements in the water before a dog goes out then theres something wrong with the dog as a good healthy dog shouldnt need any extra supplements b

i agree i dont see why you should giv a running dog any supplements before a nights lamping it should be fit and ready, maybe near the end off the night after some hard runs. but thats just my opinion

i feed them first thing in the morning but only half usaul measure,if i dont go out that night would just give them the other half later.if going out they get it when we get back.but thats just me everyone will probably different

why feed your dog when it gets back from a hard nights work would you run a marathon on an empty stomach

if more than a hour running.?

 , the day i go lamping, i feed the dog a light meal(sardines+ cup of meal) 4pm. So when go lamping say 12 pm its got something to give it (more ) energy. plus put electrolyte in the water, (working+home.)

i normally feed mine about 11 o clock at night when i put them down the kennel so that means if i go lamping they dont have food untill the night before there for running on a totally empty stumouch, normally i go lamping for 2 or 3 hours max and running them on a slip but lately been going out with a guy off here and he runs his dog off the slip and lamps from 12 midnight till sun comes up lol.....i thought my dog was fit till i done a nights lamping with him and his alasation x now i no she needs to get even fitter...

so i have changed my feeding routine, feed them at 6 o clock daily and half the daily amount on the nights i take her lamping.....

good thred trigger mate :toast:
