Are you sure it,s gastroenteritis ? many things have similar symptons ,

its supposidly traveling in the air round shiney row and chester le street as far as i know 5 dogs pts ecause of it, early signs were shitting blood and throwing up blood going very weak, there vets siad it was gasteronteritus

just had one of our dogs to the vets last week with exactly the same thing...live near durham.

HGE is verry simler to parvo - except no one know the cause of it,

a vet needs to rule out parvo first though, especaly if quite a few dogs have come down with it.

been reading up about it and it says its not contaest and can be caused by food allergies, infections caused by

bacteria, viruses, funguses,parasites,dead animals, certain plants, poisons, antifreeze, herbicides,

rodenticides, insecticides, bleach, whipworms.hookworms, prescripion medications, physical obstruction,

kidneyand liver diease, stress and abrupt diet changes

get some pro-kolin it works a treat.

Parvo is a form of enteritis and as far as i know some forms

can be passed from dog to dog it all depends on the cause of the Enteritis.

There's cases of parvo up and down the country at the moment so anyone with young dogs

dont hesitate in getting you dogs vaccinated if not already done.
