skycat 6,174
Are you absolutely sure that it is a urine infection? Has the dog been to the vet? Not trying to sound preachy, but it sounds as though you haven't been to the vet or the vet would have done tests to find out exactly what was wrong with the dog and prescribed antibiotics accordingly. Amoxicillin is the most basic of antibiotics: its what the doctor gives you to save on more expensive antibiotics. In the veterinary world Noroclav aka Synolux is more expensive and generally considered to be better than the basic penicillin based antibiotics even though they are both broad spectrum antibiotics. Sometimes what appears to be a urinary infection: difficulty peeing, may in fact be something like bladder stones which may need a different treatment altogether. johnny boy68 11,726
Thanks for the replies the dog isn't mine it belongs to a friend and the said dog has had this problem in the past and taken to the vet on a previous occasion where the vet proceeded to charge £20 consultation fee then a further £17 to prescribe medication, the exact medication that he all ready had. He's managed to get sylanux now and treated her so thanks once again
