zini 1,939
Hi John, Don’t blame you mate . The German Kraut is a wonderful rifle and was well looked after by myself, like my own child . All my rifles are respected and looked after . The r10 is treated better than Laura The deal suited me and you so we were both happy bunnies . I’m just so glad that the HW went to a good home and she is now getting used regularly for what she was designed for. Laura says hi to you and Jackie mate. ATB Frodo . Quote Link to post
gurtwurz 792
cheers si, hi back from jax, mate looks like a springer'll be making it's way to the chez wurz gun cabinet in the not too distant as well now, i've got an old skan bullpup, which if i can get the bottle fixed for, will be put out to pasture asap. after watching your spring rifle dvd again, its made me think how usefull one'd be when doing the courses, cos i've managed to get shooting permission on a couple of the sites we use but dont want das kraut getting kicked about or left under a tarp for days on end over the winter period, so i reckon a hw80 or hw95'll be a good choice of kit, preferably with a walnut stock( tackle tart that i am!) but varnished so it'll be protected from the glorious british weather(not mention the would be survivors we're training!) otherwise i'd go for a bsa lightening xl tactical, as its weatherproof, but i reckon the quality of german engineering will win that battle... i was also looking at a hw90(with the gas ram). anybody got one, or tried one? i liked the evolution i had for a while, but it kept knocking the sights slightly out after a few shots, so i assume the hw'd be similar? shame cos i really liked the action and lock time of it. all the best, wurz Edited November 1, 2010 by gurtwurz Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
Hi John, When it comes to Springer’s mate my heart is with a HW. Air Arms are also great rifles, but a HW for me is the way a head. A HW95K is an awesome rifle mate and would serve you very well. Unfortunately I have fallen on some bad times due to the split from my ex wife and have had to sell all my Springer’s now mate. One day when I’m fully back on my feet I’ll get myself another HW95K, but for now im happy with the r10 and my Ultra when I pick it up at Christmas. My car packed up today as well buddy so the money I did have aside has just been used to buy a new Astra. It never rains does it pal??? Si Quote Link to post
gurtwurz 792
hi si gutted for you buddy, typical that happens to those that deserve it least at the worst possible times. i hadnt considered air arms cos i want a break barrel rather than an underlever, must be a mid life crisis thing mate, cos we always used breakers as kids i spose... you sold all your springers already then? i'd have taken that '95 off of you buddy, that was a tidy rifle. hope alls gonna get better for you pal, hi to laura (from us both) all the very best, john Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
Yep they have all gone to lads in the Regiment John. Im sorry to see them go but laura is far more important to me than any rifle or hobby I cant moan buddy i have my r10 and Ultra and are keeping them, and its more than most have. We will be flush again in Feb and back on track buddy, so not long to eat beans on toast LOL No we are not that bad off really when compared to some poor buggers in the UK. We are just saying at the moment for when Tony comes over as we want him to have a good time with us. I get my pension in 2 years anyway and thats a biggy so we are ok. I'll then get my dream rifle (Theoben SType) mounted with a Hawke Sidewinder 30 IR 3-12x50 IR Mil-Dot Reticle and another HW95K tuned ny Tony Wall They will be my retirement present to myself . gurtwurz 792
best of luck to you both buddy, you both deserve it tony walls the guy from sandwell, isnt he? whats a tune up cost from the man si? just put up a hawke map pro i found in the closet on the new '95 so once i've got used to her and i can spare more wedge it'll be time to really sort her... cheers si, john Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
Hi John, Around £75 of the best ever spent money you will spend buddy. Guarenteed. You saw how the HW97KT performed at yours mate didnt you? That was Tony Wall tuned at SFS. Si Edited November 2, 2010 by zini Quote Link to post
Ron Weasley 83
I can also vouch for the work of Steve Pope at V-Mach. He did a lovely job of my HW95K a couple of years ago! Quote Link to post
