HUnter_zero 58
i would like to no is it just a shotgun i can own with a shotgun license thanks . BIGASH . NO, Shotgun licenses also cover inter-continental ballistic missiles and other WMD's. IED's and tactical stun weapons with a class of over 38000 Kj or 600KVA at point of ingress. Boggles the mind it really does. and of course you can buy as many shotguns as you can store. John Quote Link to post

Very strange. They won't usually allow that. Get a cabinet, fit it, call your FLD and get them to check it. Until then, don't buy a shotgun. Quote Link to post
BIGASH 2
Ow ye im not going to buy a shotgun without a cabinet i would never do that neway all i asked was what els i could have on the shotgun license i no u have to get a diffrent one for bullet guns . Quote Link to post
SEAN3513 7
i can see your point about the cabinet.......but you NEED one fitted prior to getting a licence granted. but it would be wise to check on the status of your application before you buy a cabinet and as said deffinately DONT buy a gun. You can buy; single shot, over under, Side by Side and Semi Automatic (up to a magazine capacity of two) The only shotgun cartridges you can't buy are slugs. You'd have no use for them Usually the licensing department want a call if you've got over five shotguns, as they may want you to change your home security. All of the above should be done AFTER your FEO has come round and checked if the cabinet is sturdy Edited October 17, 2010 by harfordwmj Quote Link to post

HUnter_zero 58
Thanks mate for the COCKY reply / i was just asking a question . To give you a straight answer, YES you can only own shotguns with a shotgun certificate and if you needed someone to tell you that then please take many lessons BEFORE venturing out in to the fields with your shotgun. stubby 175
all those that left a reply, saying a cabinet is needed before a license will be issued, are talking BOLLOXS I did apply for mine, before BUYING a cabinet, and had my visit, before BUYING a cabinet, and had the license on my door mat, yes, before BUYING a cabinet, with the instruction from my FAO, that once the cabinet was bought and installed, and a shotgun purchased, he would then pop back to check... CharlieT 32
You don't need a cabinet or any secure storage facility to get a SGC. I know several people who have a sgc but dont own a gun, they borrow or hire one when they want one. Sometimes I despair at the twaddle quoted by some posters. Quote Link to post
