Guest jt750
2 threads have been done already http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/172271-chat-is-the-greatest/ http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/171325-chat-room/ Trust me it wasn't nice for people being abused by a member who was subsequently banned only to sign up with a diffrent name 15 minutes later go back into chat and start again ..Mind you the boards are the same ..new members with 4 posts who have great knowledge of THL members and their exploits
lady-hunter07 15
well isnt it the mods job to check ip adresses?? Wht not make the users have over say 500 or 1000 posts before going on chat or why not make member's have to go by Ian B before getting on the chat? Also there are mods on there its there job to chuck the abuseive member off it is it not??

Guest jt750
I administrate a forum and moderate another ...the differences between admin and moderators on these forums are ...a moderator can only ban people and then later check ip addresses to make sure there are no dual identities being used. The administrator can ban people and also set ban triggers in place so if you ban a person you can ban the ip address and or email address which stops them re-registering using that ip number or email address.. a simple moderator cannot do this. I would imagine where these ban triggers fall down on a site like this is when a family use the site ..father ansd son ..spouses etc ..why should the father be banned for the sons stupidity or vice versa. Hope this explains a little how a forum works
SportingShooter 0
It gets to the point LH that you are banning someone from chat, they return under a new guise and start again 10 minutes later. And again, and again, and again throughout the night. You can make it say 500 posts before you can go in there, but then someone else will complain that "We should get rid of the post count" "They're probably only 500 "Nice dog mate" posts anyway" You can also make it invite only, but then how do you set that up? Be vouched for by a Moderator or other members? How much time do you think that would take for each member when Ian and the rest of us all work full time. This way is the easiest way and gives people the greatest freedom to choose whether they want to chat or not. After all, as soon as you have donated, you can chat and you can donate at any time, with any amount of posts. SS

It's only a fiver. Pay up, get chatting
