Guest JDF
basically what you have is a lurcher x whippet pup, such a dog is suitable for rabbits, remember that a pup is just the start, you'll only get out what you put in. Quote Link to post

dobby 1
what are the size of the parents for me and people have different opinions for rabbits id prefer a smaller type lurcher fast and nimble on the turn im a big field/stubble hunter in which you mainly see hare fox deer not realy many rabbits rabbits dont tend to go too far from there burrows and the fields i see them in are not big to what i hunt normaly and some times rough moor land if i was to get a rabbit dog i think id go for something bedlinton/whippet hard nimble and fast but thats my opion anyway hope this helps all the best dobby Quote Link to post
bunny bouncer 0
Cheers for the advice folks the fields i shoot on are small i have no problem keeping the rabbits under control with the gun there are a few fox on there but the shotgun sorts those out. I just wanted a small and nimble dog to work along side my terrier who loves to bush. That is why i was wondering about that cross as the guy selling them says they will make 22inch ats max thanks again for the advice stu Quote Link to post

jpnixon 7
true that fella at the gun club is full of it. 22" should make a good size for most things but that breeding that the lad round your wasy sounds deadon for wat you want ask him how the sire/dam work and as said already you will have some work to put in but it is worth it when you see your efforts pay off in the dog coming on, thats what makes it fun.
