i was talking to a friend about shooting in school earlier. I mentioned i wanted to sell my SMK SX17 for a bigger more powerful gun. he suggetsed a hw80 as he got one. how would you rate them for all round shooting?

New or second hand? Or what is your mate asking for his, bearing in mind your his mate it should come at right money

i think hes keeping his :laugh: i will be looking at about 200 quid for gun and a decent scope what do you think?

I'm sure that you meant to put that you were talking about shooting when in school lessons and not shooting the rifle in your school

 

Anyway, The Weihrauch HW80 rifle is a brilliant spring piston rifle and was widely used and the firm favourite along with the HW77 rifle years ago as the number 1 hunting rifles in the UK.

 

Even today a HW80 springer takes some beating and is defo up there with the 7 or 8 best spring piston rifles currently available.

 

If the rifle is in good working order and still under the UK 12ft/lb legal limit it will be a defo upgrade from your SMK rifle mate.

hi iv'e got an hw80 with a gas ram fitted,its is a very good gun although heavy to carry so you need a sling.I bought it second hand off a mate for £75 if you get the chance i would recomend it

ye not heavy for an adult, but my grandson hates carrying it.
