Barrie 1,325
AVOIDING FALLING FOUL OF THE LAW !!! The season is underway and it’s important for all our sakes that those involved with terrierwork are fully conversant with the law in order to avoid unnecessary prosecutions. One of the most fundamental requirements and most immediately verifiable requirements under the Hunting Act is that those engaged in terrierwork must not only HAVE, but must also CARRY WITH THEM the written permission of the landowner. At least one terrierman has already been charged and found guilty of this offence (along with others) despite being in the company of the landowner who was also charged initially (his charges were eventually dropped). And yet all of that could have been so easily avoided. To this end the NWTF in conjunction with the JRTCGB have had printed 20,000 postcards. The front of the postcard simply has to be signed by the landowner and the reverse details the requirements under the Act (see examples below). Experience to date has shown that simply producing such a card for inspection has served to allay any concerns. It also shows quite clearly that the holder has at least an equal knowledge the law as the police officer involved, who in most instances can find far better things to do with his time. These cards are available from the NWTF stand at all the shows and Game Fairs we attend. This coming weekend the NWTF will be at the Midland Game Fair at Weston Park and be located within the Countryside Alliance tent. Pop in and pick up some cards and while you’re there maybe buy one of our 25th Anniversary badges to show your support for the only organisation solely dedicated to the defence of the working terrier and terrierwork, and which DOES JUST WHAT SAYS ON THE TIN !!!! Alternatively, these postcards can be downloaded from our website at PERMISSION CARDS and the badges purchased from the ONLINE SHOP. Barrie 1,325
Tried to buy the badge off the site it wont let me says something about "enabling cookies" what does that mean, is there another way to get the badge online If you’re an AOL user, open your browser (probably Internet Explorer or Firefox) and copy the link into the address field at the top. Hopefully that should work OK. If you’re not an AOL user…. Click on START in the bottom left hand of your screen. Click on CONTROL PANEL in the box which appears. Double click on INTERNET OPTIONS. Click on the PRIVACY tab at the top of the box which appears. Move the slider on the SETTINGS bar to the bottom position. Press OK. Restart your computer and log onto the site again and see if that works. Once you’ve finished repeat the above and reset your slider to where it originally was. If neither of the above work then just drop me a PM and we’ll sort something out. Y.I.S. - Barrie Quote Link to post
