8shot 196 Posted September 13, 2010 Report Share Posted September 13, 2010 (edited) can any one give me a bit of advice i took the landy out for a little spot of green laning a few days ago it got covered in mud and all was fine the next day it wouldnt pull away ...as if the handbrake was still on but it wasnt..i checked we got it running fine and then put the handbrake on ...and then the same problem when we went to pull of again any advice welcome atb 8shot its a 1992 discovery Edited September 13, 2010 by 8shot Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Chid 6,863 Posted September 13, 2010 Report Share Posted September 13, 2010 drums on the back of the gearbox .. they have a transmission brake thats why i was asking how you checked the handbrake wasnt stuck on... quite a common problem on landrovers it needs stripping down and greasing up the joints with a good high temperture grease suitable for brakeshoe joints. used to happen all the time on works landy , a good knock with a hammer will release them (while the handbrake lever is in the off position) but if your going to do that make sure you chock the wheels up ..
