mechanics i need help

can any one give me a bit of advice

 

i took the landy out for a little spot of green laning a few days ago

it got covered in mud and all was fine

 

the next day it wouldnt pull away ...as if the handbrake was still on

but it wasnt..i checked

 

we got it running fine

and then put the handbrake on ...and then the same problem when we went to pull of again

 

any advice welcome

Have you taken the hand brake drum off and looked at the condition of the shoes?

no i havnt looked at that

 

where abouts is the handbrake drum??

drums on the back of the gearbox .. they have a transmission brake thats why i was asking how you checked the handbrake wasnt stuck on... quite a common problem on landrovers

it needs stripping down and greasing up the joints with a good high temperture grease suitable for brakeshoe joints. used to happen all the time on works landy , a good knock with a hammer will release them (while the handbrake lever is in the off position) but if your going to do that make sure you chock the wheels up ..

Sounds like something I'd forget to do Chid.. :yes::icon_redface::laugh:
