Rhodey 96 Posted August 28, 2010 Report Share Posted August 28, 2010 Well I couldn't wait any longer, was out checking some cover crops the other day and came across a couple of warrens in open fields. Haven't seen any young around there when lamping so thought I would have a quick hour out this morning. Turned up to see the cows down the bottom end of the field well away from where we were going, just as I had put the nets down they came over to investigate as they do. My old man was with us so he had the job of crowd control keeping them away from the nets. After only a couple of minutes one bolted and slipped the bloody net, luckily another two then followed which we pounced on to make there was no escape. Went over to the next set of holes across the river netted up entered the ferret sat back and waited after 10 mins she appeared, nothing at home there. Wasn't out very long at all and it was only a small bag, but it felt good to be out with the ferrets. Roll on winter! Quote Link to post

Jamie m 668 Posted August 28, 2010 Report Share Posted August 28, 2010 Steady on it's still august lol , I've noticed all the bracken stalks ging brown this week a sure sighn and the hawthorns are there and the trees get a darker shade of green every day and the nights are down to about7 degrees Quote Link to post
