I use vitalin in the biscuit form, get it for about 11 quid a bag. Had no faults with it although i will be mixing it with raw mince when the working season starts.

not sure about biscuit, this looks more like porridge oats with corn flakes in it lol, should you mix it with mince as iv heard it might not be good for the dog, different rates of digestion or something like that anyway,if its ok to do so il just give them with their normal raw meat ect, cheers rob

As Lab said, My dogs seemed to like it when I bought some, and for free you can't complain! might be worth adding some meat to it when they start working though? Definitely needs to be soaked though.

no worries mate, yes it does say soak with warm water

Thought it was diff when you said meusli. Never had any probs with mixing raw and biscuits mate. My dads ran greyhounds for as long as i can remember and he has always done that mix, along with veg, tinned tomatoes and vitiman powders.

Its good for a morning meal mate, obviously not as good as raw, but mix it with a bit mince or tuna/sardines and its a good feed, and im not a fan of dried stuff mate.

try it and see.

It will keep the bulk on, and they love it on a frosty morning.

Have you ever eaten Alpen museli? (I know, probably not ) It sticks to your teeth something chronic. Tasty, mind, but not fabulous for teeth. If you use it, as said make sure you soak it really well, and provide the dogs with good bones for chewing on so they can keep their teeth clean. I seem to remember reading somewhere that some dogs fed on it have ended up with really manky teeth.

Vitalin is one of the worst dog foods on the market. They use the poorest forms of protein sources that result in neglible amounts of it being metabolised by the dog. It's full of cheap bulking agent and because it isn't extruded, it passes through the short digestive tract of a dog relatively unchanged.

When i sold dog food, i only had one customer for this stuff.....and tellingly she fed it to her geese.

i believe this was one of the first COMPLETE dog foods on the market, i fed it to my first terrier back in 1979, problem i had was a lot of it

passes right through the dog and keeping racing pigeons on a strict diet they used to pick through the dog droppings for bits of flaked maize or

what ever ......... but waste not want not, why don't you just mix a little in with your dogs food each day it certianly won't do them any harm.

all the best IAMLA12.
