Ideation 8,217
What stopped them exporting it? Have you heard anything about the cancer issue, if anyone i'd have imagined you would know. I did try some kind of malt paste stuff i got from pets at home or something, seemed ok. Quote Link to post

longnetter 32
I think it was something to do with its description as a "food supplement" or "food additive" either way I believe and I may be wrong that it wasn't authorised under the description ,which ever, it was being sold as . johnmac666 2
companions choice do have it http://www.companionschoice.co.uk/category_Ferret_Grooming_And_Health_Products_1.htm very expensive & its the smaller bottle not the large one i paid a £1 less for a bigger bottle off a guy called big kev off flea bay but he has ran out , it can be used as i bribe whilst cutting nails, just put a bit on their belly & they will sit still whilst you clip nails/groom/clean ears/out & general health checks , use in moderation as too much gives them craps, seems to help clean them out if they are moulting, regards john Quote Link to post
Malt 379
Spit on your hand and let them lick it off. Sounds unpleasant but they love it. Quote Link to post

Davidh 5
Companions choice do their own version. Bigger bottle and cheaper. Not heard about the cancer scare but I wouldn't be surprised if there is a link. I know that vets are now more clued up on ferrets so more pepole them when are sick but I think there seems more and more cancers in ferrets. I personally think that the increase in the feeding of complete food has also got something to do with it. What do you think. Am I talking rubbish? Let me know. Quote Link to post
Coneytrappr 30
David you ain't talking rubbish mate, excessive carbohydrates in the diet has been linked to pancreatic cancer in ferrets ['insulinoma']and the main source of carbohydrates in the modern ferret diet? Yep, processed foods. This cancer is not found in ferrets which are raised totally on fur and feather. As for the ferretone being linked to cancer, I have no idea. I've never used the stuff, tbh.
