CarraghsGem 92
i think the "wildlife officer" is making shite up in order to make his employers and other antis think hes doing something, sounds like hes saying anything just so he can see him name in the local paper + pretend to be important then when he goes for a pint in his local Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,217
ideation i like the us decent folk i know what you mean not after a barny on your side but how decent are we in other ppls eyes.? no dissy intended so don't take the wrong way. There will allways be people that dont like what we do no matter what it is we do, be it hunting, fishing or even bloody knitting (not that i knit) its the way of the world im afraid and we have just got to get on with things and feck what everybody else thinks glad you seen my point. but what other ppl think leads to bad press Aye i see your point but you know what i mean. If you've been around the hunting scene long enough you know just how many thugs and wannabe hardmen it attracts. There are a lot of folk that hunt with dogs that i think are proper scum. I hate that by having a running dog other people and them like to try to suggest that we are all on the same side. f**k that. And it's got a lot worse since the ban. Before, plenty people killed deer and fox with dogs, and plenty of people didn't like it, but it was kind of kept quiet and didn't really get rubbed in folks faces. When the ban hapenned, so many people entered the sport just to 'kill some shit' (and thats a quote from this site! ) and because it was against the law. A lot of folk DO hunt deer and just leave them for dead, they aren't doing it for the meat but for the sport. Combine that with the added scare mongering that now goes on by people trying to justify the ban and you have an ever worsening public opinion. If only we could/would police ourselves, but it's too late now. Funny thing is i've met a fair few antis (not the proper militant ones) and have explained what i do and why and most of them have got it and been at least ok enough to just agree to disagree. . . . in the context of where i live it makes sense . . . .
