Headed out last night with my mate to see what foxes were about on one of the farms and it was a nice change to see the farmer had left a few gates open for a change ( can't help getting fed up spending half your night opening/closing gates :( ). We managed to get ourselves up onto some of the hills and we came across a ewe carcass that looked like it had been chewed at by foxes. We flicked the lamp around and spotted two sets of eyes a good few hundred yards away on another hill so we tried calling them in. The one fox was not playing ball but the younger one started coming in fast. We were parked about 100 yards away from a wall which we knew it would come to and decided I would take the shot as sonn as it came over the wall. Unfortunately things didn't go to plan as for some reason when it got to the wall the damn thing never came over (despite there being a gap it could of got through easily!). Couldn't work out why it wouldn't come over the wall as we were also downwind of it, so we started up the motor to try and get further up the hill to get an angle on it but the engine startled it and it bolted lol ! :wallbash: After that little fiasco we headed over to the other side where we saw the fox cubs last week and managed to spot a couple of cubs which this time did come into the call and we managed to bag the one straight away but the other didn't stop and ended up getting to close to the fence and game crop cover we couldn't get a shot at it which was rather annoying but heh there is always next time !

Nice fox dave !!!

what kind of call were you using, you must be good at it to bring the fox in from a few hundred yards.

Keep up the good work mate.
