blade sharpening

Recommended Posts

i've been looking for a blade sharpener for a while for carrying in the field.

at home i use the 3 whet stones, but they are too big to carry.

i was using a ceramic/diamond combi stone, but its slow.

then i got a bladetech, its nasty kit, eats the blade away fast

Depends how clean an edge you want, one of those hand held crossed steels would do. We have one at home that would fit in a pocket.

i find the knife will not usally dull very quickly and can be "put back up" with a good steel.

i have a few different ones depending on use of the blade( rough, crome and a ereo sharpener).

laminate steel knives tend to blunt quite quickly( soft steel in the middle) and often need the stone quicker.

what kind of blade is it you are using?
