wireviz 8
Went out this morning and it was a mission i was after the large buck that had eluded me for a month now and i had hatch a plan i would go half an hour before light and sit and wait.As the light came i could see a doe not far off and was sure the big old fella would show. Then suddenly out of the gloom came a sickening sound a large buck barking at me from down wind .I turned my head real slow and sure enough there he was running at about 150 meters away parallel to me and barking.I sat were i was and decided to wait it out .After about 30 more minute i saw the large buck walking in my direction he sat down in some long grass 150 mtrs from me to far for a head or neck shot so nothing i could do but wait. An hour passed and all i could see were the tips of his antlers periodically bobbing up and down .My legs were killing me and my calf muscles were locking in cramps trying to stay real still.I thought when he gets up i have a 25% chance of him heading in my direction and he didn't disappoint walking into the magical 100 mtr range and i took him heart shot with a bit of shoulder. What an exciting stalk and a beast that had a charmed life has now been brought to task. Edited June 23, 2010 by wireviz Quote Link to post
